我最近注意到，有些理工科期刊的审稿意见细分成七种：

3: Strong Accept (As good as any top paper in reputable journals)

2: Accept (Comparable to good papers in reputable journals)

1: Weak Accept (I vote acceptance, but won’t argue for it)

0: Neutral (I don’t like it, but I won’t object if others like it)

-1: Weak Reject (I would rather not see this paper accepted)

-2: Reject (I would argue to reject this paper)

-3: Strong Reject (Definitely detrimental to the journal quality if accepted)

与之相对照，主流英文哲学期刊的审稿意见通常分三种：accept, reject, revise and resubmit。第一轮审稿，审稿人基本不会推荐accept。如果觉得好，只会给revise and resubmit，细分成major revision和minor revision两类。如果觉得不好，就直接退稿了。

哲学是具有高度争议的一门学科。把审稿意见分成七种，比简单分成三种好。七种区分体现了期刊对作者认真负责的态度，特别是Neutral那个选项，有助于审稿人意识到自己的意见并非上帝的判决，避免傲慢自大的心态：你如果只是一般地不喜欢某篇稿子，并不一定意味着别人也不喜欢，更不一定意味着文章不好。
